ACCA, the UK-based global accountancy body, has reinforced its strategic partnership with the Institute of Indonesia Chartered Accountants (IAI) to enhance sustainable, ethical and digitally competent accountancy practices across Indonesia.

The collaboration focuses on professional training, workforce development, and international standards alignment.

At the IAI Conference in Jakarta, Pulkit Abrol, ACCA Asia Pacific director, highlighted the role of sustainability reporting in future business growth. “By combining IAI’s leadership in Indonesia with ACCA’s global reach, we can help equip a new generation of professionals with the digital, sustainability and strategic skills they need to drive inclusive growth,” he said.

The ACCA–IAI Strategic Pathway allows Chartered Accountant (CA) Indonesia holders to pursue ACCA membership through its qualification process. The initiative supports professional recognition, career mobility and alignment with global accountancy standards.

Both organisations are exploring further cooperation in professional training, digital tools, research initiatives, sustainability practices in public finance management, and international mobility for accountants. At the regional level, collaboration is facilitated through the ASEAN Federation of Accountants, where IAI holds a permanent Secretariat role.

IAI executive director Elly Zarni Husin commented: “We deeply appreciate ACCA’s recognition of IAI’s leadership as the acknowledged Professional Accountancy Organisation in Indonesia, affirming our joint commitment to elevating the competence and global competitiveness of our Chartered Accountant members.”

The partnership highlights how professional accountancy bodies can drive ethical practice, digital capability and regional economic growth, strengthening the skills and global reach of accountants in Indonesia.
