Bank of Ireland has agreed a €21 million financing package with Ashcroft Developments to progress the construction of over 140 homes across two residential schemes in Louth and Kildare. The funding will support 75 units at Bridgegate in Ardee, Co. Louth, and 68 homes at Spire View in Johnstownbridge, Co. Kildare, both already under construction.
The developments will deliver a mix of two, three, and four-bedroom houses, with Spire View also including one-bedroom maisonettes, targeting young couples and growing families. Bridgegate is the larger scheme, with planning permission for 347 homes, a crèche, and a community building, with a second phase expected to commence in 2026. Spire View will feature a commercial unit alongside the homes.
The bank is providing the financing via a revolving debt facility, allowing Ashcroft to draw funds as required, repay them as homes are sold, and reuse the facility for subsequent phases. Bank of Ireland has a longstanding partnership with Ashcroft, having previously supported more than 200 homes across seven projects.
Brian Gaffney, Head of Residential and Development Finance at Bank of Ireland, said the financing will deliver “much-needed, A-rated homes in areas where demand is strong,” adding that revolving facilities help ensure housing projects progress efficiently. Ashcroft Managing Director Alan Brunton thanked the bank for its continued support, noting the role of focused relationship management and financial backing in the company’s growth since 2015.
As of June 2025, Bank of Ireland was financing 25,000 homes across 235 sites in 23 counties, part of its wider target to help deliver 30,000 homes nationwide.
