Berry Accountants, the Market Harborough-based firm trading for over 100 years, has completed mergers with Ireland & Co and AccountAbility as it accelerates expansion across Leicestershire. The transactions increase headcount to approximately 40 staff and broaden the firm's footprint across the county, with a combined client base spanning corporate and private individuals.
The Business Desk reported that the expansion follows last year's appointment of Micky Johal, who now leads business growth and integration. The firm targets further acquisitions and organic growth over the next 24 months, with ambitions to double in size whilst servicing clients across Leicestershire.
Berry is owned by its management team, with additional partner investment committed to support the strategy. The addition of Ireland & Co and AccountAbility expands Berry's audit, accountancy, tax, payroll, VAT, and business advisory offering.
Micky Johal, director at Berry Accountants, said: "We are absolutely delighted to have added two such reputable and well-regarded firms to Berry. This is a hugely significant milestone and a clear statement of our intent. We are building a business that combines deep experience with a progressive, client-focused approach."
He added that discussions were already underway regarding further transactions, with additional announcements expected during 2026 and beyond. The firm also plans to recruit and train additional business advisers to support its enlarged client base.
Mark Woods, managing director of Berry Accountants, said: "Micky joined Berry to help us create a modern, forward-thinking audit, accountancy, tax and business advisory firm that delivers highly personalised advice for clients."
Ireland & Co, based in Kibworth and established 33 years ago, provides services to corporate and private clients. AccountAbility, founded in 2002 and based in Cosby, serves a broad client base across the region.
