Belfast-based independent accountancy and advisory firm Muldoon is joining Azets, the international accountancy and business advisory group with 9,000 employees across 190 locations in eight countries in northern Europe, with the firm rebranding immediately upon completion of the transaction.
The Belfast Telegraph reported that Muldoon, now in its fourth decade in business, provides accounting, tax, audit, and advisory services to more than 860 companies and individuals across a broad range of sectors. The firm employs more than 40 staff and is led by managing partner Raymond Tiffney alongside Sean Muldoon and Robbie Barr, all of whom will remain following completion.
The transaction gives Azets a strengthened presence in Northern Ireland and expands its ability to serve clients across the region and into the Republic of Ireland, where the group already operates from its Dublin office.
Tiffney said: "This is an important and positive step for our business, our people and our clients. Joining Azets gives us access to a much wider range of services, expertise and career opportunities, whilst allowing us to maintain our focus on delivering the personal, high-quality service that has been at the heart of Muldoon for decades."
Azets UK and Ireland chief executive Peter Gallanagh said the addition of the Muldoon team strengthens the group's Northern Ireland presence and is a continuation of its strategy to build a leading accountancy and advisory firm across the UK and Ireland, adding that the Muldoon team brings strong local relationships and deep sector expertise that will benefit clients across the region.
Azets, which recently also acquired Alextra in the North West of England, continues to be one of the most active acquirers in the UK and Ireland accountancy market.
