Report into Inland Fisheries Ireland set for release
Ireland’s Comptroller and Auditor General is preparing to publish an in-depth review of financial and governance failings at Inland Fisheries Ireland. Triggered by disclosures in 2022 and 2023, the probe examines irregular transactions, gaps in internal controls and value-for-money concerns flagged in recent audits.

The findings, presented to the Minister for the Environment in July, are expected by late October 2025. The case offers a stark reminder of how governance failures can erode operational capacity, public trust and financial integrity — with potential reputational and legal consequences for any organisation.
