KPMG has officially opened its new New York City headquarters at Two Manhattan West, consolidating the firm’s previously dispersed staff across 12 floors. The move brings all New York-based employees together for the first time in decades.

The office is designed around collaboration and flexibility. KPMG deputy chair and managing principal Atif Zaim said the new space “makes you feel a different way. It makes you do things differently. The level of energy is different, and when the clients come in and their impression of the brand and of the organization — it's different.” He added that the move aligns with the firm’s five-year vision and supports internal messaging and culture.

The building features open-plan layouts with no exterior offices, ensuring natural light and views of Manhattan for all staff. Floor zones are themed around Manhattan neighbourhoods, including Central Park, Midtown, Downtown, and the Financial District, with maps incorporated into the décor.

Flexible seating, or “neighbourhoods,” allows staff to choose the most suitable environment for their work, balancing private and communal spaces. Zaim emphasised that physical proximity encourages collaboration: “Where teams are physically proximate, they do collaborate more.” Technology is integrated throughout, supporting seamless interaction with clients and remote colleagues.

The new headquarters also houses KPMG’s Ignition practice, which combines data, technology, and advisory services to support client innovation. The space includes immersive rooms and adaptable seating for workshops and breakout sessions.

Employee amenities include a coffee bar, two cafes, a fitness centre, a golf simulator, a Manhattan lounge, and a terrace with skyline views. The design incorporates references to KPMG’s history and professional roots, including abacus-themed lighting and recognition of employee tenure.
